ASSESSMENT

The assessment will be made of the following drills/exercises:

  • Digging x 2

  • Setting x 2

  • Serving x 1

  • Spiking x 1

Exercises

Digging Exercise 1
Long pass - Coach will ball toss to the player (6) for a long pass, they will need to pass/dig to the player (2) in the setter’s position.

Short pass - The player (6) will move to the next position on the court to pass/dig a second ball toss from the Coach for a short pass/dig to the player (2) in the setter’s position.

Repeat the Long pass and Short pass two more times.

Setting Exercise 1
Same as digging exercise 1 but the player will set the ball instead of digging.

Digging + Setting Exercise
Coach will ball toss over the net to the player (P6) that will pass/dig the ball to the player (P2) in the setter’s position. The setter will then set the ball to the player (P3) in the spiking position who will catch the ball.

Repeat this exercise two more times before rotating positions as per the animation.

Serving
Players will stand on the court where they feel most comfortable serving from and will be scored accordingly. Each player gets three serves.

Note: over arm serves will score +2 if it goes over the net

Spiking
Spiking player (4) will be at the net and perform a block.
After they block, they will transition backwards off the net as another player (5) does a high ball toss to the coach and set it to the spiking player (4).

The spiking player will do their spiking approach and attempt to spike the ball over the net.

Repeat this exercise two more times.
